THE BASICS

Members buy a share of the farm and receive a weekly delivery of produce from the middle of May through the end of October 2006. Shares are limited in number and available on a first-come first-served basis. A share consists of approximately 4 - 8 different types of seasonal fruits and vegetables provided weekly as nature allows. Egg shares are also available for an additional fee.

SHARE SIZE

The size of the share will vary based on the yield of the farm, which depends on the forces of nature.

While no guarantee can be offered, during peak harvest one share has been sufficient for:

  • A single vegan who grew some of his own produce as well and supplemented with his favorite foods from the grocery store.
  • A vegetarian couple who cooked 3-4 dinners a week and supplemented with their favorite foods from the grocery store.
  • A non-vegetarian family of 3 who dined at home most evenings and supplemented with their favorite foods from the grocery store.

* Be sure to notify us in advance of any food allergies you have and we will make a point of substituting items when necessary.

SHARE COST

A Standard Share costs $575.00 plus 8 hours volunteer time at the farm or doing other SPROUT tasks. A payment of $275 is due with the contract, and secures your membership in SPROUT for 2006. The remaining $300, plus any applicable delivery fees must be paid before April 30th 2006.

Payment up front allows the farmers to budget and purchase necessary seed, fertilizer, equipment and more for the season – often at a reduced rate. We are asking those members who are able, to make their full share payment by December 15, 2005.

Sorry, the limited number of Work Shares available for 2006 are already taken.
